The protective effect of a solder fume extractor only arises in the particulate stage, because that is where the fine particles are separated that would otherwise return to the breathing air at the bench. The H13 particulate filter performs that task in the HA14 filter build-up of the 400 series and retains 99.95 percent of the particles to DIN EN 1822.

How it works
Solder fume is a mixture of sticky aerosols, particles and gases. The expanded metal prefilter and the filter mats bind the aerosols and most of the particles, the finest airborne matter is retained in the HEPA medium of the H13 cassette. The gaseous fraction is only taken up by the downstream adsorption filter with 14 kg of activated carbon.
Applications
Hand soldering, robot soldering and automated soldering systems at special workstations extracted by a 400 series unit. Replacement is due when the airflow no longer reaches its usual level despite fresh prefilter mats, or when the loading indicator reports the particulate filter as saturated.
Compatibility and scope of delivery
Intended for the HA14 filter build-up of the LRA 400 solder fume extractor. The expanded metal prefilter and the M5 and F7 filter mats sit ahead of it, the adsorption filter with 14 kg of activated carbon behind it. The ASD 400 and LAS 400 units of the same series are fitted with an H14 particulate filter cassette instead. Supplied as one single H13 particulate filter.
