The A23 adsorption filter cassette occupies the lower filter position of the explosion-protected ULT ACD 1200 MD.46 A46 Ex extraction unit rated 1,000 m³/h. ULT lists it as spare filter 4-00396.

The activated carbon fill binds gaseous and vaporous air contaminants by adsorption, that is by attachment to the carbon surface. The filter design follows the rated airflow of the unit so that the contact time is long enough for good adsorption. Coarse dust is already retained by the upstream M5 filter mat.

Applications

Filter change on the ACD 1200 MD.46 A46 Ex, which captures odours, gases and vapours from processes such as bonding, pretreatment, painting and printing, cleaning, laminating and casting.

Operating notes

The filtered clean gas can be returned to the workroom (recirculation mode), so no heat is lost. Recirculation is not permitted for carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic substances. In that case the exhaust spigot is fitted on the outlet side and the clean gas is ducted into a central exhaust system.
