An oxidised tip wets badly and costs time at every joint. The yellow SPG-10 sponge sits damp in the iron stand and wipes off oxide and spent solder without attacking the iron plating. The cellulose is sulfide free, so no sulfur is carried into the tip. Supplied as a pack of 10 for continuous use across several benches.

Applications
Daily tip cleaning at soldering benches in production, repair and laboratory work, in particular for lead-free soldering where higher tip temperatures speed up oxide formation.
Compatibility and scope of delivery
Usable in the stands of Thermaltronics soldering systems and in Metcal MX series stands. Ten sponges are supplied per pack. Moisten the sponge with demineralised water before use and squeeze out the excess.
