Chip components from 0402 to 1206 sit too close together to be worked one termination at a time. The C120 cartridge with its chisel face grips both terminations at once and carries heat across the full contact area, which cuts the time spent per part. The heater sits inside the cartridge, so working temperature is present right at the face.
