Fine joints between capacitors, connectors and heat sinks need a slim, long tip. The CVC-6CN0004R is a conical reach cartridge with a 0.4 mm tip width and 7.9 mm length, running at a nominal 330 °C.

Cartridge series code

The first digit after the hyphen gives the temperature series: 6 for 330 °C, 7 for 390 °C, 8 for 440 °C and 9 for 470 °C. Metcal recommends the 700 series for most applications. The 600 series suits low thermal load and low temperatures, the 800 and 900 series high temperatures and high heat demand.
