A diagonal cutter of only 160 mm usually reaches its limit on hard wire. In this length the KNIPEX X-Cut still cuts hard wire up to 2.7 mm dia. and piano wire up to 2.2 mm dia., because the cutting edge angle and the transmission ratio are matched to each other. According to the manufacturer this saves 40 percent effort compared with standard diagonal cutters of the same length.
