In distribution boards and at the service entry, compact cable shears soon run out of capacity, while a hydraulic tool is too much kit for the job. The StepCut XL cable shears 95 11 225 cut fine-stranded cables up to 120 mm² by hand and stay a pure hand tool at 225 mm and 365 g.

Areas of use

Electrical installation, switchgear and distribution board building, cable assembly in grid and industrial work. Wherever supply cables up to 120 mm² are shortened and a hydraulic cable cutter is too heavy or too bulky, the XL version replaces the larger device. The shears are not suitable for steel-reinforced cables such as ACSR.

Standards and conformity

The manufacturer does not state a product standard for this tool. According to the manufacturer the shears contain no substances of very high concern under REACH, and the RoHS directive does not apply.
