Electronic assemblies usually leave the EPA inside a bag. This 305 x 405 mm shielding bag forms a closed Faraday cage: the aluminium layer in the PET/ALU/PE laminate guides electrostatic fields around the contents. The 305 x 405 mm format takes printed circuit boards in the Eurocard and A4 range, including edge protection.

Benefits

• Shielding to standard: built to EN 61340-5-1 and ANSI/ESD S11.31, with the metal layer embedded inside the laminate where it is protected from abrasion.
• Resealable: the zip closure allows incoming inspection and removal of parts without a heat sealer, and the bag stays usable afterwards.
• Contents stay visible: the transparent film shows labels and part markings, so the bag need not be opened outside the EPA.
• Dissipative surface: 10E4 to 10E9 ohm inside and outside, so charges drain in a controlled way rather than as a sudden discharge.

Applications

Suitable for populated PCBs, plug-in cards and assemblies in the A4 range that are stored, moved between production steps or shipped. The bag is also available in other formats.
