Anyone who needs an orthopaedic modification cannot simply pick any safety shoe. To DGUV rule 112-191 the ERGO-MED 1300 is released not only for exchanging the footbed but also for sole and heel raises on the finished shoe. The rest of the package follows: a mesh upper, an alu-tec aluminium toe cap rated for 200 joules and 15 kN to EN ISO 20345, and an MPU INNOFLEX sole that keeps resistance below 100 megohms to DIN EN 61340-5-1.
What the shoe delivers
- S1 in plain words. Closed heel area, antistatic build, energy absorption in the heel and a toe cap rated for 200 joules and 15 kN. No water-repellent upper and no penetration barrier. Anyone facing wet floors or nails moves up to S2 or S3.
- Charge dissipation to DIN EN 61340-5-1. The shoe ties the wearer into the personnel grounding of the EPA. By the person-shoe-floor method Atlas guarantees less than 100 megohms, whereas the plain antistatic requirement of EN ISO 20345 allows anything between 0.1 and 1000 megohms. For component protection the tighter figure is the one that counts.
- Alu-tec aluminium toe cap with a carbon-fibre reinforced toe guard. The anatomically shaped steel cap protects the toes against 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression to EN ISO 20345. The abrasion-resistant carbon-fibre toe guard takes the wear that shows first at the toe during kneeling work and so extends service life.
- Approved for orthopaedic modifications. The supplier data sheet lists the shoe to DGUV 112-191 both for orthopaedic insoles and for orthopaedic modifications, that is sole and heel raises. The marking inside the shoe is decisive. This keeps the type examination valid when the orthopaedic technician works on the shoe.
- Mesh upper instead of leather. The fabric lets air reach the foot and dries quickly, which is what decides the eighth hour in a heated production hall. The aktiv-X functional lining regulates moisture, does not stain and stays abrasion-resistant.
- MPU INNOFLEX system with CLOUDZONE. The INNOFLEX LINE guides the forces along the natural line of force from the first to the last ground contact, the CLOUDZONE in the heel cushions the strike, and the large MPU tread areas return energy into the next step. Slip resistance SRC.
- clima-stream concept aiming at 32 degrees inside the shoe. Atlas names 32 °C as the comfort temperature inside the shoe, and a deviation of one to two degrees is already felt as hot or cold feet. A breathable upper, the thermoregulating aktiv-X functional lining and the insole even out the swings.

Applications
Electronics manufacturing and placement, test and repair benches, assembly, warehouse and dispatch, especially at workplaces with long standing times and for wearers who need orthopaedic provision. Wet conditions call for S2 or S3, and a risk of nails calls for a penetration-resistant version.
Standards and conformity
- EN ISO 20345, safety class S1, slip resistance SRC as stated by Atlas, with the supplier datasheet adding the 2012 edition. Alu-tec aluminium toe cap tested to 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression.
- DIN EN 61340-5-1, ESD-compliant. Resistance below 100 megohms by the person-shoe-floor measuring method.
- PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425, risk category 2.
- DGUV rule 112-191, suitable for orthopaedic insoles.
Sizes
Available in EU sizes 36 to 50 in standard width 10. Atlas also lists the range in width 12 and in the special widths 13 and 14.
