ESD safety boot SL 535 XP 2.0 S3S, waterproof smooth leather, black/blue - Atlas 25800

Between production hall, loading ramp and yard the surface changes every few minutes, and the shoe takes wet, sharp edges and swarf in equal measure. The ankle-high lace-up boot SL 535 XP 2.0 from the Atlas allround range answers that with roughly 2 mm full-grain waterproof smooth leather, metal-free penetration resistance and charge dissipation to DIN EN 61340-5-1 for work at the ESD bench.

Why this model

• Waterproof smooth leather about 2 mm thick. The full-grain cowhide stays tight for hours, breathable and dimensionally stable. That is the difference between S2 and a merely water-repellent textile shoe.
• Safety class S3S in plain terms. Water penetration and water absorption of the upper are tested, and penetration resistance plus a profiled outsole are added. Closed heel area, energy absorption in the heel and antistatic behaviour carry over from S1. In the 2022 edition the trailing S marks the non-metallic penetration barrier.
• XP penetration resistance in aramid fabric. Metal-free, lighter than a steel midsole and free to follow the roll-off. Atlas lists the model under EN ISO 20345:2022 in class S3S, tested with the thin 3.0 mm nail.
• Steel toe cap plus MPU overcap. The cap is tested to 200 joules and 15 kN to EN ISO 20345, and the MPU overcap protects the upper leather at the tip against premature abrasion, which extends service life.
• Dissipative to DIN EN 61340-5-1. The wearer's charge goes into the floor in a controlled way, so walking from the loading ramp to the test bench damages no assembly through discharge.
• aktiv-X functional lining and MPU cushioning. The lining regulates moisture permanently, does not stain and resists abrasion. The shoe is approved for orthopaedic insoles to DGUV rule 112-191.
