Wet yards, cold halls and sensitive assemblies often fall into the same shift in maintenance work. The ERGO-MED 846 XP from Atlas is built for that mixture. As an ESD shoe to DIN EN 61340-5-1 it keeps the resistance of the person shoe floor chain below 100 MOhm, so the static charge of the wearer drains away before it reaches an assembly. Atlas lists the boot to EN ISO 20345 in class S3 with the additional requirements CI and SRC, here in width 13.

  • Controlled dissipation with a limit value: Atlas lists the model as an ESD shoe to DIN EN 61340-5-1 and guarantees a resistance below 100 MOhm for the person shoe floor measuring chain. The charge carried by the wearer drains away on the walk to the machine instead of reaching a component. The shoe also stays inside the antistatic window of 100 kOhm to 1000 MOhm required by EN ISO 20345.
  • Toe protection with a test figure: anatomically shaped steel toe cap, tested to EN ISO 20345 for at least 200 joules impact energy and at least 15 kN compression.
  • Penetration resistance without metal: the XP technology uses a high-tech textile containing aramid fibres. It is light, creates no cold bridge and allows the natural torsion of the foot, and its longitudinal flexibility reduces the risk of twisting an ankle.
  • Dry feet across the shift: waterproof full-grain cowhide of approximately 2 mm, breathable and dimensionally stable. An overcap shields the toe area against abrasion and extends the service life of the boot.
  • Grip and warmth outdoors: the Outdoor outsole technology carries a coarse lug tread 4.5 mm deep and reaches slip resistance class SRC. The additional requirement CI certifies the sole complex as cold insulating and the woven fur lining keeps the foot warm at low temperatures.
  • Fit instead of compromise: special width 13 from the Atlas multi-width system for broad forefeet. The model belongs to the ERGO-MED series and is approved for insole supply and for certified orthopaedic modifications to DGUV rule 112-191.

Areas of use

The boot suits maintenance and plant service in electronics and semiconductor operations, works yards and loading zones, cold areas and outdoor assembly. Wherever an ESD workplace ends and the wet yard begins, one shoe covers both sides.

Standards and conformity

  • EN ISO 20345, class S3 with the additional requirements CI cold insulation of the sole complex and SRC slip resistance, marking EN ISO 20345 S3 CI SRC.
  • DIN EN 61340-5-1 for the ESD workplace. Atlas guarantees a resistance below 100 MOhm for ESD shoes using the person shoe floor method. The footwear standard itself has no ESD test, it only defines the antistatic range of 100 kOhm to 1000 MOhm.
  • PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425, risk category 2.
  • DGUV rule 112-191 for insole supply and certified orthopaedic modifications, blueline marking of the ERGO-MED series.

Sizes

Atlas supplies the model in EU sizes 36 to 50. The width is fixed at width 13, further widths are held by Atlas under their own article numbers.
