Penetration resistance is worth little if the shoe pinches at the front. The FLASH 2605 XP in width 12 combines the extra wide last of the Atlas multi-width system with metal-free penetration resistance and an ESD resistance below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1.
Why this model
- No component damage on the way to the machine. A dry shop floor is enough to build a charge that quietly degrades an assembly. This shoe keeps the person, shoe and floor resistance below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1 and drains that charge in a controlled way.
- 200 joule toe protection at low weight. The anatomically shaped alu-tec aluminium toe cap withstands 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression to EN ISO 20345. Aluminium weighs less than steel, moves the centre of gravity towards the middle of the foot and creates no cold bridge inside the shoe.
- Safety class S1PS in plain words. Closed heel area, antistatic properties, energy absorption in the heel and, on top of that, penetration resistance. The added PS stands in the 2022 edition for a non-metallic insert tested with the 3.0 mm nail. Antistatic means a through resistance between 0.1 and 1000 MOhm to EN ISO 20345.
- Penetration resistance without metal. The XP midsole is a high-tech textile containing aramid fibres. Unlike a steel insert it covers the full sole area, weighs less and allows the natural torsion of the foot. Nails and swarf on the floor become a manageable risk.
- Cushioning built for an eight hour shift. The MPU INNOFLEX system guides the load along the natural line of force from heel to toe. The CLOUDZONE in the heel and the large MPU tread areas absorb energy and return it into the next step. Anyone who stands and walks all day notices the difference by the evening.
- Foot climate across the full shift. The mesh upper is air permeable, the aktiv-X functional lining regulates moisture, does not stain and resists abrasion. The clima-stream concept keeps the temperature inside the shoe close to the 32 °C at which the foot tires least.
- Width 12 for a broad foot. The extra wide last from the Atlas multi-width system takes ball and instep without ordering a size up. That removes pressure points at the front and heel slip at the back.

Areas of use
The shoe suits dry indoor areas where sharp objects are also to be expected. Typical places of use are electronics manufacturing and EPA workstations, machine and device assembly, maintenance, workshop and test bay as well as warehouse and dispatch. For permanently wet areas, choose a higher safety class.
Standards and conformity
Certified to EN ISO 20345:2022 in safety class S1PS with the additional marking SR. The 2022 edition tests slip resistance on ceramic tile with detergent as a basic requirement, and the SR marking documents the extra test on ceramic tile with glycerine. Personal protective equipment of risk category II under Regulation (EU) 2016/425. ESD marking to DIN EN 61340-5-1. Approved for orthopaedic insoles to DGUV rule 112-191. The manufacturer is ATLAS-Schuhfabrik GmbH und Co. KG, Frische Luft 159, 44319 Dortmund, Germany.
