Eight hours on screed or ESD flooring decide the purchase in the end, not the data sheet. The TX 40 ESD is a safety low shoe in class S2 to EN ISO 20345:2012 made of roughly 2 mm SOFT nubuck leather with a steel toe cap tested to 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression. Underneath works the MPU INNOFLEX system, which absorbs impact energy in the CLOUDZONE and returns it into the next step.

Why this model

• Charge dissipation as the first argument. The shoe is ESD compliant and keeps the resistance measured by the person-shoe-floor method of DIN EN 61340-5-1 below 100 MOhm. Static charge on the wearer drains through the sole in a controlled way instead of building up on the body. Inside an EPA that is what stops a component failing because somebody walked from the bench to the machine.
• S2 in plain words. On top of the S1 package with closed heel, antistatic build and energy-absorbing heel area comes the water-repellent upper. Spilled cleaner or a splash of coolant does not soak straight through and the foot stays dry through the shift.
• Steel toe cap with tested figures. The anatomically shaped toe cap withstands at least 200 joules of impact energy and at least 15 kN of compression to EN ISO 20345:2012. That is a 20 kilogram part dropping onto the forefoot from roughly one metre.
• SOFT nubuck leather, about 2 mm thick. The full-grain cowhide is particularly breathable and feels soft from day one. There is no long breaking-in period, which saves complaints when a whole department is equipped in one order.
• MPU INNOFLEX system as a sole concept. From first to last ground contact the sole guides the forces along the same line, the INNOFLEX LINE, from heel to toe. The CLOUDZONE in the heel absorbs the energy and the large MPU tread areas return it into the next step.
• Width 10 as a broad standard. All ATLAS models in width 10 are built on a broad, foot-friendly last. That fits the majority of a workforce and keeps the number of exchanges low on a bulk order.

The abrasion-resistant MPU toe bumper sits exactly where kneeling work removes material first. The MPU REBOUND SYSTEM combines a pressure-relieving insole with the responsive MPU sole, and the aktiv-X functional lining keeps moisture under control. The outsole is rated SRC, tested on ceramic with detergent and on steel with glycerine. For orthopaedic insoles the model is approved to DGUV rule 112-191.

Electronics manufacturing and assembly work, test bay, repair and service, order picking and stores inside the EPA, maintenance in temperature-controlled halls. The water-repellent nubuck leather copes with spilled cleaner or coolant. For permanently wet floors or outdoor work with puncture risk, an S3 model is the right class.
