A shoe in standard width presses across the ball of the foot as soon as the foot is built wider, and after eight hours on concrete that stops being a detail. The FLASH 6100 is therefore also available in width 12, the extra wide option from the Atlas multi width system. Everything else stays the same class S2 ESD low shoe with Sportline fabric and an MPU INNOFLEX sole whose resistance stays below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1.
What the shoe delivers
- S2 in plain words. Closed heel area, antistatic construction, energy absorption in the heel, a toe cap rated 200 joules of impact and 15 kN of compression, plus an upper tested for water penetration and water absorption. S2 does not include a penetration barrier against nails, that is what S3 stands for.
- Charge dissipation to DIN EN 61340-5-1. The shoe ties the wearer into the personnel grounding of the EPA. Atlas guarantees a resistance of less than 100 MOhm measured by the person shoe floor method. The plain antistatic requirement of EN ISO 20345 allows anything between 0.1 MOhm and 1000 MOhm. Component protection depends on the tighter figure, because only that prevents a discharge when someone picks up an assembly.
- Toe cap rated 200 joules. Every safety class from S1 upwards requires a cap that withstands at least 200 joules of impact and 15 kN of compression to EN ISO 20345, roughly 20 kilograms falling from one metre. The cap is anatomically shaped and does not crowd the toe box.
- MPU INNOFLEX system with MPU REBOUND. The sole assembly guides the load along one natural line of force, the INNOFLEX LINE, from first to last ground contact. Large tread areas made of energy absorbing MPU material take up the impact and return it into the next step. Anyone covering kilometres on concrete across a shift notices the difference by the end of the day.
- Sportline upper and aktiv-X functional lining. The Sportline fabric is built from textile fibres, is highly air permeable and breathes well. The aktiv-X lining regulates moisture actively, does not stain, is kind to the skin and resists abrasion. In heated production halls that is what decides the eighth hour of a shift.
- Width 12 as a last of its own. Width 12 is not standard width 10 in the next size up, it is a separate extra wide last from the Atlas multi width system. Length stays the same, the ball of the foot gains room. Pressure points after eight hours are solved by width, not by going a size up. Approved for orthopaedic insoles under DGUV rule 112-191.

Areas of use
Electronics production, test benches, assembly and warehousing, wherever wearers with broad feet stand or walk for eight hours. The water tested S2 upper also covers damp areas of the hall. Where nails or swarf are a risk, a penetration resistant S3 model is the right choice.
Standards and conformity
- EN ISO 20345:2012, safety class S2, slip resistance SRC. Toe cap, tested to 200 joules of impact and 15 kN of compression.
- DIN EN 61340-5-1, ESD compliant. Resistance measured by the person shoe floor method is less than 100 MOhm. The antistatic requirement of EN ISO 20345 is wider, between 0.1 MOhm and 1000 MOhm.
- PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425, risk category 2.
- DGUV rule 112-191, suitable for orthopaedic insoles. The marking inside the shoe is what counts.
Sizes
Available in EU sizes 36 to 49 in extra wide width 12. Atlas also lists the same model in standard width 10.
