In hygienically sensitive indoor areas a clean, airy shoe that still drains static charge reliably is what counts. The CL GX 350 ESD is a safety sandal from the ATLAS WOMEN line built on a women's last, rated class S1 SRC to EN ISO 20345 and fitted with a steel toe cap for 200 joules of impact and 15 kN of compression.
What sets this model apart
- Charge dissipation first. ATLAS labels the shoe explicitly as an ESD version to DIN EN 61340-5-1 and guarantees a person-shoe-floor resistance below 100 megohms. The footwear standard itself only defines the antistatic band from 100 kilohms to 1000 megohms, so the ESD proof goes beyond it. In practice the wearer charge drains away in a controlled manner on the walk from the bench to the machine instead of building up on the body and destroying a component.
- S1 SRC in plain words. S1 means a closed heel area, energy absorption in the heel, an antistatic build and a toe cap rated for 200 joules. SRC means slip resistance is proven both on ceramic with detergent and on steel with glycerine, the highest of the three former levels.
- Sandal cut for warm halls. The open cut with a hook-and-loop strap and side ventilation slots keeps the foot dry even at high room temperature. The strap turns putting the shoe on and off at the airlock into a matter of seconds.
- A women's last, not a shrunken men's shoe. ATLAS builds the model in the WOMEN line on its own women's last. According to the manufacturer the SPORTY LIGHT sole was developed specifically for the needs of women's feet rather than simply scaled down from a men's sole.
- Cleanline upper. The CLEANLINE material is water-repellent, bacteria and odour inhibiting and breathable at the same time. That is exactly the combination hygienically sensitive indoor areas ask for, and the white stays presentable longer.
- MPU Light sole with MPU REBOUND SYSTEM. The light MPU Light sole technology is designed for soft bedding, and the MPU REBOUND SYSTEM adds noticeably gentle, fatigue-free walking.
- clima-stream concept. The clima-stream concept maximises breathability, balances humidity inside the shoe and regulates temperature. Over eight hours of standing that counts for more than any detail of the upper.
- Approved for orthopaedic insoles. ATLAS lists the model as suitable for insole supply to DGUV rule 112-191. Staff with a prescribed insole therefore need no special purchase, the marking inside the shoe is decisive.
