The SL 64 blue ESD is the leather low shoe for workplaces where wet occurs but nails do not. ATLAS rates it class S2 SR to EN ISO 20345:2022. The roughly 2 mm waterproof smooth leather keeps water out for several hours, and the alu-tec aluminium cap protects against 200 joules of impact and 15 kN of compression while saving weight over steel.
What sets this model apart
- Charge dissipation first. ATLAS labels the shoe explicitly as an ESD version to DIN EN 61340-5-1 and guarantees a person-shoe-floor resistance below 100 megohms. The footwear standard itself only defines the antistatic band from 100 kilohms to 1000 megohms, so the ESD proof goes beyond it. In practice the wearer charge drains away in a controlled manner on the walk from the bench to the machine instead of building up on the body and destroying a component.
- S2 SR in plain words. S2 contains everything from S1, that is a closed heel area, energy absorption in the heel, antistatic properties and a 200 joule toe cap, and adds tested water penetration and low water absorption of the upper. A penetration-resistant midsole is not part of it, which keeps the shoe lighter. SR stands for the additionally proven slip resistance on tile with glycerine.
- Waterproof smooth leather, around 2 mm thick. The full-grain cattle leather is characterised by lasting waterproofness and keeps feet dry for several hours. It remains breathable, durable and dimensionally stable.
- Aluminium cap instead of steel. The alu-tec cap meets the same 200 joules and 15 kN as a steel cap, but weighs considerably less and conducts cold far worse. Over a full shift the saved weight adds up noticeably.
- MPU REBOUND SYSTEM and INNOFLEX. The sole complex combines the MPU REBOUND SYSTEM for gentle, fatigue-free walking with the INNOFLEX outsole concept that supports the wearer in every phase of movement.
- aktiv-X functional lining. The lining regulates moisture actively and makes the shoe dry quickly after the shift. It does not stain, is skin-friendly and abrasion-resistant, which matters where shoes are worn in rotation.
- Also available extra wide. ATLAS already builds standard width 10 on a broad, foot-friendly last and offers the same model in width 12 as the extra wide version.
- Approved for orthopaedic insoles. ATLAS lists the model as suitable for insole supply to DGUV rule 112-191. Staff with a prescribed insole therefore need no special purchase, the marking inside the shoe is decisive.
