ESD safety low shoe GX 120 black 2.0 ladies S2, smooth leather, width 10, black/royal blue - Atlas 45100
Ladies models in safety footwear are often just shrunk men models, with a heel that is too wide and the wrong instep line. The GX 120 black 2.0 is built on the Atlas women's fit last instead. It is ESD compliant and certified in protection class S2 to EN ISO 20345:2012, with waterproof smooth leather providing the S2 property. The steel cap takes the required 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression, and underneath works the SPORTY LIGHT sole calculated for female feet.
Why this model
- Dissipate the charge, do not collect it. The shoe is ESD compliant. Measured by the person-shoe-floor method of DIN EN 61340-5-1, the resistance stays below 100 MOhm, so the wearer charge drains to ground in a controlled way. In practice that means no component fails from a discharge on the walk between bench and machine. The plain antistatic requirement of EN ISO 20345, 100 kOhm to 1000 MOhm, does not cover this. It protects the person, not the electronics.
- S2 in plain words. S2 covers everything S1 offers, a closed heel, antistatic construction and an energy-absorbing heel region. On top comes a water-repellent upper, tested for water absorption and water penetration to EN ISO 20345. A spilled cup or a freshly mopped hall floor stays without consequence.
- Waterproof smooth leather as the upper. The water-repellent smooth leather is the basis of protection class S2. It can be wiped clean rather than washed out, which makes daily life easier around coolant, cleaning agents or a wet-mopped floor.
- Steel toe cap with a 200 joule margin. The anatomically shaped steel toe cap withstands at least 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression to EN ISO 20345. It is the toughest of the cap variants and forgives the hard knock against a rack foot or a trolley.
- SPORTY LIGHT sole for the female foot. The sole technology is calculated for the lower weight and the different roll-off of a woman foot and relies on soft bedding rather than plain stiffness. Together with the 3D cushioning system of a pressure-relieving insole and a responsive MPU sole, the stride stays springy into the eighth hour.
- women's fit instead of a shrunk men last. The last is calculated for the anatomy of a female foot rather than scaled down from a men model. Narrower heel, a different instep line, softer bedding in the footbed. The model is approved for orthopaedic insoles to DGUV rule 112-191, the marking inside the shoe is decisive.

Areas of use
Electronics manufacturing and module assembly, laboratory and test field, cleanroom ante-areas, goods-in and order picking inside the EPA. The water-repellent leather tolerates cleaning water and condensate as they occur when hall floors are mopped or in air-conditioned areas. The shoe gives no protection against sharp objects underfoot, that calls for a penetration-resistant midsole.
