An ESD protected area is only as good as the weakest path to earth inside it, and that path is often the shoe. The SL 845 XP blue keeps the through resistance of the person, shoe and floor chain below 100 MOhm measured to DIN EN 61340-5-1 and therefore holds the limit an ESD workplace requires under this standard. As an S3 shoe in waterproof leather it is equally suited to the way there.

What sets this model apart

• Protection class S3S to EN ISO 20345:2022, so everything from S2 with a closed heel area, antistatic construction, energy absorbing heel and a water resistant upper, plus a cleated outsole and a non metallic penetration resistant insert tested by the stricter 3.0 mm nail method.
• alu-tec aluminium toe cap, tested to 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression. Aluminium saves weight over the forefoot compared with steel without reducing the protective effect.
• XP metal free penetration resistance made from high tech textile with aramid fibres, full area, flexible and without the cold bridge of a steel midsole.
• MPU INNOFLEX System with MPU REBOUND SYSTEM. The sole complex guides the load along one continuous line from heel to toe and returns the absorbed energy into the step.
• Waterproof leather outside, aktiv-X functional lining inside for moisture regulation, approved for orthopaedic insoles to DGUV 112-191.
• Supplied in width 10 (standard). Atlas also lists the model in the special widths W13 and W14, so a whole department can be equipped with one model in several widths.

Electronics manufacturing and final assembly, test and measurement stations, storage and order picking in the ESD protected area, maintenance and plant service. The waterproof treated leather additionally covers routes across the yard and the ramp.

Standards and conformity

EN ISO 20345:2022 in the S3S SR configuration, where slip resistance SR is an additional requirement tested on tile with glycerine. ESD performance follows DIN EN 61340-5-1 with a person, shoe and floor through resistance below 100 MOhm. Antistatic safety shoes sit between 100 kOhm and 1,000 MOhm under EN ISO 20345, and the lower limit of 100 kOhm secures limited protection against electric shock for work up to 230 V under DGUV 112-191.
