Anyone moving between test bench, assembly and warehouse in electronics production needs a shoe that dissipates the wearer charge in a controlled way. The ERGO-MED 465 XP keeps the person-shoe-floor resistance to DIN EN 61340-5-1 below 100 MOhm and prevents the discharge that ruins a sensitive component on the way to the machine. Special width 14 is the widest step Atlas offers for this model. It targets very strong forefeet, bandages and thick orthopaedic insoles.
Why this model
- Protection class S3S SR to EN ISO 20345:2022. That means a toe cap rated for 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN compression, a closed heel area with energy absorption, antistatic construction, tested resistance to water penetration and water absorption, and a cleated outsole.
- Penetration protection at the tougher test level. The XP insert withstands the thin 3.0 mm nail, not only the 4.5 mm one. It is metal-free, covers the whole sole area and lets the foot flex as it rolls off.
- Waterproof leather upper. It keeps splash water and cutting fluid out while staying breathable, which is exactly what class S2 as the base of S3S calls for.
- MPU INNOFLEX system outsole with MPU REBOUND SYSTEM cushioning. A pressure relieving insole and a responsive polyurethane sole absorb the impact of every step, which tells after eight hours on your feet.
- aktiv-X functional lining. It actively regulates moisture inside the shoe, does not stain and stays abrasion resistant, and the shoe dries out overnight.
- blueline for orthopaedic supply. Insoles and certified modifications such as sole and heel elevations to DGUV rule 112-191 are approved without voiding the type examination.

Areas of use
Electronics manufacturing and test areas, assembly, maintenance, warehouse and yard. Because the upper is tested against water penetration and the outsole is cleated, the shoe does not stop at the shop door. The approval for insoles and modifications also makes this the default model wherever the company doctor or the orthopaedic supplier has a say.
Standards and conformity
EN ISO 20345:2022, protection class S3S with the additional requirement SR. S3S covers everything class S2 demands and adds a non-metallic penetration resistant insert tested with the thin 3.0 mm nail plus a cleated outsole. SR documents slip resistance on tile with glycerine. Since the 2022 edition the test on tile with detergent is a basic requirement and the old codes SRA, SRB and SRC no longer apply. The ESD property is tied to DIN EN 61340-5-1. Atlas states the person-shoe-floor resistance as below 100 MOhm. The antistatic range of the shoe standard itself runs from 100 kOhm to 1,000 MOhm. DGUV rule 112-191 names 0.1 MOhm as the lower limit for limited protection against electric shock when working up to 230 V. Personal protective equipment of risk category 2.
