Anyone handling assemblies carries the static charge of their own body, and a single uncontrolled discharge is enough to damage a component in a way no visual inspection will find. The SL 525 XP keeps the through resistance of the person, shoe and floor chain below 100 MOhm measured to DIN EN 61340-5-1. On top of that comes full S3 protection from waterproof treated leather, penetration resistance and a cleated outsole.

What sets this model apart

• Protection class S3S to EN ISO 20345:2022. Alongside a closed heel area, antistatic construction and an energy absorbing heel it requires an upper tested for resistance to water penetration and water absorption, a cleated outsole and a non metallic penetration resistant insert tested with the thin 3.0 mm nail.
• steel toe cap to EN ISO 20345, tested to 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression, with a scuff cap above it that protects the toe area of the leather against abrasion.
• XP metal free penetration resistance made from high tech textile. Full area protection against nails and sharp objects, flexible when the foot rolls off and free of cold bridges.
• XR-MPU outsole technology with MPU REBOUND SYSTEM. The tread grips on uneven ground and the cushioning returns absorbed energy into the next step, which relieves a long day of standing and walking.

Standards and conformity

EN ISO 20345:2022 in the S3S SR configuration. In this edition SR denotes slip resistance as an additional requirement, tested on tile with glycerine. ESD performance follows DIN EN 61340-5-1 with a person, shoe and floor through resistance below 100 MOhm. Antistatic safety shoes sit between 100 kOhm and 1,000 MOhm under EN ISO 20345, and the lower limit of 100 kOhm secures limited protection against electric shock for work up to 230 V under DGUV 112-191.
