Anyone covering several kilometres of concrete a day in production knows by the evening which sole they were wearing. The VANTI GREY LOW from the MOTION PROTECT line answers that with an IMPULSE.FOAM® midsole in two different densities: the softer layer cushions, the firmer one keeps the foot stable. Protection stays completely metal-free, with a fibreglass toe cap and a flexible FAP® penetration insert.

Inside an ESD protected area the complete discharge path is what counts. DIN EN 61340-5-1 requires the resistance from the person through the shoe to the floor to stay below 100 MOhm under the measuring method of that standard. Only then does the charge built up while walking drain away in a controlled way before anyone picks up an assembly. The antistatic construction to EN ISO 20345 covers no more than the range from 100 kOhm to 1 GOhm and is not in itself proof of ESD suitability. The VANTI GREY LOW is explicitly listed as ESD compliant in the supplier data sheet and is therefore intended for the EPA.

What sets this model apart

• Safety class S1PS under the 2022 edition of EN ISO 20345. S1 covers the closed heel area, antistatic construction and energy absorbing heel, while the PS suffix denotes a non-metallic penetration resistant insert tested with a 3.0 mm test nail. The finer nail is the tougher requirement compared with the 4.5 mm used for the P and PL variants.
• Fibreglass toe cap, tested to EN ISO 20345 at 200 joules impact energy and 15 kN compression. It weighs less than steel, conducts no cold and keeps metal away from sensitive assemblies.
• MOTION IMPULSE triple density sole build with an IMPULSE.FOAM® midsole in two densities. Cushioning and stability come from separate layers rather than from one compromise material.
• Rubber outsole, heat resistant to 300 °C contact heat and slip resistant. Completely metal-free construction, no metal near open assemblies and no false alarm at the metal detector.
• Sandwich mesh with hard-wearing microfibre, BreathActive functional lining and evercushion® BA footbed. Listed by the manufacturer under DGUV 112-191, delivered in width 11 and in sizes 39 to 48.
