ESD Brush, Flat, Hard Bristles, 20 mm, Dissipative Handle - Desco 238115

Brushing circuit boards easily generates electrostatic charge through friction, especially with synthetic bristles. In this brush, conductive fibres are worked into the natural bristles. They prevent charge build-up even at low humidity and drain existing charges through the dissipative handle to the grounded user. At 20 mm wide, the flat brush covers larger areas of a PCB in one stroke while remaining easy to guide.

• Bristles of conductive yarn, pig hair and horse hair, volume resistance of the conductive fibres 1 x 10³ to < 1 x 10⁵ ohms.
• Dissipative black polypropylene handle, 1 x 10⁴ to < 1 x 10¹¹ ohms.
• Resistance to ground Rg 1 x 10⁴ to 5 x 10⁶ ohms.
• Hard bristles are made for scrubbing PCBs, particularly in SMD assembly, for example to remove flux residue and solder debris.

Applications

For PCB cleaning, rework and repair in electronics production, especially on SMD assemblies, and for cleaning tools and fixtures in the ESD protected area. The brush only drains charges when the user is grounded, for example via a wrist strap.
