Antistatic brush for laminators 1250 mm, inner span 1315 to 1405 mm - Kinetronics SWL-1250

On wide-format work the web runs long, and every charge left on the film shows up as trapped dust in the finished product. The StaticWisk SWL-1250 lays 1250 mm of working width across the web and takes the charge away through a 3.5 m grounding cable. Check the adjustable inner span before ordering: the brush spans frames measuring 1315 to 1405 mm.

Applications

The main case is laminating and coating machines running film from the roll. Film without a charge comes off the roll flat, which makes the laminate smoother. The manufacturer recommends one brush on the upper film and one on the lower film, because otherwise only one of the two webs is discharged. Use is not limited to laminators: the brush can be mounted wherever static charge on film, paper or web material causes trouble. Custom lengths up to 3100 mm are available on request.

Mounting and care

To mount the brush, back the supplied screws out of the brush ends until the magnetic feet sit firmly against the machine frame. The brush is tensioned between the cheeks of the frame. Then fasten the grounding cable to the frame, since without that connection there is no path to ground. Long brushes may not be held safely by the supplied magnets alone. In that case the manufacturer recommends an additional steel or aluminium support, and mounting holes in the upper section of the profile are provided for it. A risk assessment before installation is advisable. The fibres are synthetic and rated up to 65 °C.

Shipping

At 1250 mm brush length the parcel exceeds 100 cm. Shipping therefore does not go as a standard parcel, and the freight cost for this length is quoted separately.
