Anti-static hand brush 280 mm with grounding cord, conductive handle - Kinetronics SW-281

Two things make dusting large surfaces tedious: the number of strokes, and the charge that pulls the dust straight back. The Kinetronics StaticWisk SW-281 addresses both. It works 280 mm at a time, the largest width in the range, and drains the charge to earth through a grounding cord instead of relying on the conductive handle alone.

Applications

Kinetronics lists the StaticWisk range for lenses, filters, SLR mirrors and optical components, film and film strips, scanner and framing glass, monitors and displays, acrylic and plastic surfaces, electronic assemblies and circuit boards, jewellery, glass, instruments and technical equipment. The 280 mm width is explicitly the size for working across an area, and the grounding cord answers surfaces that recharge after every handling step. Together they point at the fixed bench: framing and repro work, scanner and copier platens, display and monitor assembly, acrylic fabrication. If the brush has to travel between benches and the charging is only occasional, the cordless SW-280 is enough.

Setup and care

Connect the grounding cord to an existing earthing point at the workstation before use, otherwise the brush behaves like the ungrounded version. It must not be used above 65 °C. Wash soiled fibers with a mild shampoo, then comb them and leave them to dry flat overnight on a level surface. The anti-static properties survive the wash.
