Anti-static brush 2000 mm for film and laminating machines, 2075 to 2190 mm inner width - Kinetronics SWL-2000

At web widths around two metres a single contaminated spot devalues the whole run. The StaticWisk SWL-2000 takes the charge off the film before it can attract dust and leads it to the machine frame through a 3.5 m grounding cable. With a brush length of 2000 mm it spans machines whose adjustable inner width is between 2075 and 2190 mm.

Benefits

• Adjustable inner width of 2075 to 2190 mm: the magnetic feet at both ends unscrew out to the machine frame and clamp the brush between the side frames.
• Ultra-soft conductive synthetic fibres, 40 mm long, touch even sensitive film without leaving marks.
• Close to the mounting point less than 5 percent of the original charge remains, measured on polyethylene film running at 1 m/s with roughly 20 kV initial charge.
• One brush on the upper and one on the lower web bring the potential at the contact point well below 1 kV.
• The 3.5 m grounding cable comes ready fitted with a cable lug and still reaches a suitable earthing point on wide machines.

Application

The main application is film lamination on wide machines. A charge-free web leaves the roll flat and laminates more evenly. Beyond that the brush suits any place where static on film, paper or web material causes trouble and a 2000 mm body fits between the side frames. The synthetic fibres are rated up to 65 °C. Because of that length the brush does not ship as a standard parcel, freight cost is quoted separately. Custom lengths up to 3100 mm are available on request.

Mounting and safety

To install the brush, unscrew the supplied screws out of the brush ends until the magnetic feet sit firmly against the machine frame, then fasten the grounding cable to the frame. At a body length of 2000 mm the manufacturer's note applies in particular: the supplied magnets may not be sufficient to hold the brush safely. An additional support made of steel or aluminium is recommended, and fixing holes can be drilled in the upper section of the aluminium profile. A risk assessment before installation is advisable, and correct installation remains the responsibility of the operator.
