Setting up a service bench normally means buying three items separately and matching them yourself. This kit supplies the three tools that every electronics repair calls for. Its centrepiece is the microprocessor controlled Ersa RDS 80 rated 80 W, which reaches working temperature in 40 seconds and covers 150 to 450 °C.

The three components

• Ersa RDS 80 soldering station, microprocessor controlled, 80 W, 150 to 450 °C, LC display, three directly selectable fixed temperatures plus standby and auto power off.
• Digital multimeter with true RMS measurement up to 1000 V DC and 750 V AC, 10 A current, 40 MOhm resistance, 40 mF capacitance, frequency and temperature from minus 40 to 1370 °C.
• Meter safety rating CAT III 600 V and CAT II 1000 V to EN 61010-1, which covers measurements on mains circuits in day to day service.
• Gallun Optimal desoldering pump in all metal design, ESD compliant, with replaceable PTFE tip and a 3.2 mm opening diameter.
• Tip series 0832 and 0842, fitted with 2.2 mm from the factory, replacement iron 0890CDJ available separately keeps the bench running long term.

Application and scope of delivery

The kit suits repair shops, prototyping, training workshops and maintenance teams, anywhere soldering, desoldering and measuring happen without a production line behind them. Included are the RDS 80 station, the true RMS digital multimeter and the ESD desoldering pump. Consumables beyond the supplied tip are not part of the kit.
