In the ante-rooms of a cleanroom, at microscope and visual inspection benches and anywhere bare assemblies lie open for a while, every particle counts. A light-coloured trouser is not cosmetic there, it is a control instrument. What clings to the fabric is seen before it settles on a board.
These women's trousers bring two things to that job. The fabric of 48 % cotton, 48 % polyester and 4 % conductive yarn weighs 170 g/m² and is spun from compact yarn with fewer protruding fibre ends. And the dissipative property sits in the yarn rather than in a coating that fades after a few laundry runs.
White also brings order to the laundry cycle. Garments change over according to their visible condition instead of a rigid interval.
Your benefits
- Soiling shows immediately: Every flux splash and every grease mark reads on white. The trip to the laundry is then decided by the actual condition of the garment rather than by a date in the calendar.
- Low lint from compact yarn: The more densely spun cotton yarn leaves fewer fibre ends standing. Fewer particles reach open assemblies in cleanroom ante-rooms and at microscope stations.
- Measured at 10⁵ to 10⁷ ohms: STFI determined the surface resistance inside the dissipative window of DIN EN 61340-5-1:2016. Charge drains under control instead of building up towards a discharge.
- 170 g/m² instead of heavy drill: At this fabric weight the trousers stay light even after eight hours at a seated workstation. The cotton takes up moisture rather than leaving it against the skin.
- Waistband follows the movement: The side elastic gives when the wearer stands up or bends down. Moving between test bench, rack and trolley all day needs no readjusting at the waist.
- Flat front without hard edges: Slit fly zip and placket lie level. The front leaves no scratch marks on light work surfaces or on painted enclosure edges.
- Conductive through many washes: The conductive yarn is woven in, not laid on. Dissipation survives repeated laundering, which is what decides the case for light garments with short change intervals.
Material and fabric
The cloth is made of 48 % cotton, 48 % polyester and 4 % conductive yarn and weighs 170 g/m². The cotton is compact yarn, spun with the fibres held closer together before twisting. Fewer protruding fibre ends mean less lint, and in areas with open assemblies and optical inspection that is not a side issue.
Polyester does the shape work. Waistband height, leg length and stitch line stay stable even though light garments go to the laundry more often than dark ones. Cotton handles moisture uptake and a dry feel against the skin and is less prone to charging than an all-synthetic material.
- 48 % cotton, 48 % polyester, 4 % conductive yarn
- Fabric weight 170 g/m²
- Compact yarn for a low-particle surface
- Conductive yarn as a fine grid across the whole cloth
White in cleanroom-adjacent zones
White is the colour of control. In airlocks and ante-rooms, at placement stations with optical inspection and in laboratories, the light shade shows at once when dust, solder paste or hand cream has reached the clothing. That gives shift management a basis for a decision without any measurement. White also brightens the workplace because it reflects the light of the bench luminaire instead of swallowing it.
Construction in detail
The waistband is cut for comfort and backed with elastic at the sides. It follows the movement without needing a belt whose buckle would scrape along table edges and painted enclosures. The front closes with a slit fly zip that disappears under the placket and leaves no ridge under a coat.
Two slash pockets sit in the side seam and stay flat. A tool, a badge or gloves disappear into them without changing the silhouette. The integrated ESD logo identifies the trousers as part of the protective equipment, which saves questions during an audit or a walkthrough.

Lasting dissipation and wash resistance
The 4 % conductive yarn runs through the entire cloth as a grid. High-grade silver yarn is worked in a dedicated spinning process and woven in as a grid. What matters on the shop floor is the consequence. The conductive yarn keeps its conductivity after repeated washing and wearing.
STFI measured a surface resistance of 10⁵ to 10⁷ ohms. That is the dissipative range, fast enough to protect components and slow enough to avoid a high-energy discharge. The trousers are suitable for industrial laundering and therefore designed for a real circuit with a laundry service provider.
Fit and size range
Delivery covers the continental dress sizes 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 52 and 54, which is enough to equip a complete shift from stock without waiting for a special production run. Sizes outside this band are arranged on request. A sample garment before the series order settles the borderline cases.
The size chart is filed as a PDF in the Downloads tab of this page. It gives the measurements for every dress size, so a department's requirement can be worked out in advance and fittings are only needed where two sizes are plausible for the same wearer. That keeps a rollout across several teams short.

- Laboratory and metrology rooms with light-coloured interiors
- Placement and final assembly of sensitive electronics
- Training and visitor areas that call for a tidy appearance
Care and service life
The trousers are suitable for industrial laundering and intended for a circuit run by a laundry service provider. The polyester share keeps waistband, seams and leg length in shape, and the conductive yarn retains its conductivity over many wash and wear cycles. The sewn-in care label remains the reference for processing.
Finishing and custom versions
Embroidery and printing are available, the fabric takes print up to 160 °C and a sample print beforehand is recommended. A cargo pocket with phone pocket, a double rule pocket and contrast versions are made on request, as are special colours and special equipment. Ask us for a quotation.
Standards and testing
Dissipation and surface resistance were tested to DIN EN 61340-5-1:2016 by STFI. The result is 10⁵ to 10⁷ ohms, measured at 23 °C (+/- 1) and 25 % (+/- 5) humidity. Further ESD standards form the wider context only. No testing or certification against them has taken place.
