Electrical connection technology
Festo's accessories programme for electrical connection technology includes cable glands of the NETC series, cable ties NEAM, threaded sleeves NEAU, and cable seals NEAU-KD. The NETC glands are available in M12 and M20 in plastic (P) and metal (M) versions, supplemented by Ex variants NETC-P-M20-EX4 and NETC-P-M12-EX4 for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Fasteners NEAU-A and threaded sleeves NEAU-TA complete the range for mechanical mounting of cables and connectors on valve housings and control cabinets.
For selecting the correct cable gland, the thread size, cable outer diameter, and ambient conditions are decisive. Standard variants NETC-P cover normal industrial environments; for wet or corrosive environments, metal versions NETC-M are recommended. In Ex zones per ATEX, only the certified variants NETC-EX4 may be used. Cable seals NEAU-KD are suited to watertight cable entries, e.g. on outdoor housings and splash-water areas.
Typical applications: Cable entry and strain relief on valve housings, control cabinets, and field devices in pneumatic systems, mounting of Festo cables and connectors on machine housings, use in Ex zones in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries with ATEX-certified accessories, and protection of cable entries against moisture and dust in outdoor installations.
