TSP-BV Cupla
Medium Pressure up to 75 Bar
The Nitto Kohki TSP-BV Cupla is a brass quick coupling with FKM (fluoroelastomer) seals for medium-pressure service up to 75 bar. The range comprises five socket versions in nominal sizes 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 (BV-2TSF through BV-8TSF). FKM provides significantly better resistance to mineral oils, fuels, aromatic hydrocarbons and elevated temperatures compared with NBR, qualifying this series for chemically demanding hydraulic and coolant systems.
| Part number | Nominal size | Body material | Seal |
|---|---|---|---|
| BV-2TSF | 2 | Brass | FKM |
| BV-3TSF | 3 | Brass | FKM |
| BV-4TSF | 4 | Brass | FKM |
| BV-6TSF | 6 | Brass | FKM |
| BV-8TSF | 8 | Brass | FKM |
Typical applications: Hydraulic systems using mineral oil or synthetic hydraulic fluids, metalworking coolant-lubricant installations, chemical process equipment exposed to fuels or solvents, and general medium-pressure line connections up to 75 bar where FKM seals are preferred over NBR for media compatibility reasons.

Operating principle
- One-piece design of TSP CUPLA socket and ball valve.
- Separation prevention mechanism prevents accidental disconnection during connection (when the valve is open).
- The handle of the ball valve locks the sleeve to prevent disconnection of the plug during use.
- Socket valve can be opened and shut off while socket and plug are connected.
- Ball valve design provides for high flow rate.
- High viscosity fluids such as grease can be applied.
- Interchangeable with standard TSP CUPLA plug in the same size.
- Compact and enhanced sealing design: the connection part between a standard TSP CUPLA socket and a commercially available ball valve is eliminated for enhanced sealing and the overall length is reduced by around 30%.

Series comparison
| Series | Max working pressure | Size range | Valve structure | Applicable fluids |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TSP CUPLA Socket with Ball Valve | 10 bar | 1/4 inch to 1 inch | One-way shut-off | Water, Hydraulic oil, Air, Gas |
| ZEROSPILL CUPLA | 36 bar | 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, 1 inch (thread) | Two-way shut-off (Spill Reduction) | Water, Hydraulic oil, Chemicals, Air, Gas |
| SP CUPLA Type A | 75 bar | 1/8 inch to 2 inch | Two-way shut-off | Water, Hydraulic oil, Chemicals, Air, Gas, Steam |
| TSP CUPLA | 75 bar | 1/8 inch to 2 inch (thread and hose) | Straight through | Water, Hydraulic oil, Chemicals, Air, Gas, Steam |
Pick the TSP CUPLA Socket with Ball Valve when the line has to be shut off and reopened at the socket while the plug stays connected, which the straight through TSP CUPLA does not provide. It is rated 1.0 MPa {10 kgf/cm2}, so lines working in the 1.5 to 7.5 MPa {15 to 76 kgf/cm2} range of TSP CUPLA and SP CUPLA Type A, or at the 3.5 MPa {35 kgf/cm2} of ZEROSPILL CUPLA, are above its rating. Its valve structure is one-way shut-off, so where both halves have to close on disconnection SP CUPLA Type A or ZEROSPILL CUPLA with their two-way shut-off apply.
