A ground plane pulls away more heat than a slim tip can replace. The TSS08-1.6D01 uses a short taper, which places its 1.6 mm wide, 0.7 mm thick blade close to the heater, so the temperature dip on contact is smaller than with the extended version of the same width.

Suited to joints on ground planes and multilayer boards, to connector pins, headers and through hole parts where a slim tip cools down too early. The tip fits the QUELKTSS80A iron of the Quick TS8 and TS8+ stations. Supplied as one cartridge tip without iron or station.
