Through hole parts with heavy leads and plated holes take a lot of heat out of the tip. The TSS08-2.4D answers with a 2.4 mm wide blade of 0.8 mm material thickness, carried on a short taper close to the heater.

• Blade width 2.4 mm heats the pad ring and the lead together, which shortens the time on the joint.
• Material thickness 0.8 mm provides more cross section, and therefore more heat reserve, than the 1.6 mm blades.
• Short taper keeps the path from heater to working face short, so the temperature dips less on contact.
• Tinning over 4 mm holds enough solder for several holes in sequence.
• Thermocouple in the cartridge and calibration chip in the tip keep set and actual temperature aligned after a change.

For leaded components, terminals, connector pins, small shield plates and joints on ground planes. Where access is tight, the slim extended TSS08-2.4D01 offers the same blade width on a longer neck. The tip fits the QUELKTSS80A iron of the Quick TS8 and TS8+ stations. Supplied as one cartridge tip without iron or station.
