When a joint sits between tall components, under a shielding frame or at the bottom of a cut-out, access usually fails at the shank rather than at the point. The TSS08-I01 therefore pairs a 0.2 mm needle point with an extended shank that stays slim over its whole length.

What the geometry does

• Needle point of 0.2 mm diameter puts heat on one pad instead of its neighbours, which is what fine pitch rework requires.
• Extended slim version keeps the shank thin all the way back, so recessed contacts remain reachable.
• Tinned length of 4 mm carries the solder reservoir up into the shank and holds up while drawing jumper wire.
• Thermocouple sits in the tip, which matters at this small tip mass because the setpoint has to be restored before the joint cools.
• Chip with the stored calibration value keeps a narrow process window repeatable after a tip change.
• Tip and heater form one direct unit, with no plug joint to lose heat across.

Application, scope of delivery and compatibility

Aimed at repair work on smartphone, tablet and notebook assemblies, jumper wire on fine traces, single pins in QFP and QFN edge rows, and joints next to tall electrolytics or connectors. Where more heat reserve is needed without changing the needle diameter, the same series offers the short cone version.
