When you drag along a fine pitch row, the amount of solder on the tip decides between bridges and clean fillets. The TSS08-2CM keeps that solder in the concave face of its 45 degree bevel at 2 mm diameter, the smallest reservoir of this shape family, and releases it evenly as you pull.

Operating benefits

• Concave face instead of a flat bevel, the solder stays in the hollow rather than creeping up the shank.
• 2 mm diameter keeps the contact area small enough for closely spaced leads without heating the neighbouring pads.
• Face pre-tinned from the factory, so first wetting happens without burning in on the assembly.
• Thermocouple sits right behind the face because tip and heater form one unit, which shortens recovery at every new joint.
• A chip inside the cartridge stores the calibration value, so after a tip change the station displays the verified reading again.

Application, scope of delivery and compatibility

Intended for drag soldering and rework on fine lead rows such as QFP, SOIC and low pitch headers, and for repair work on smartphone and tablet assemblies with a narrow process window. Scope of delivery, one cartridge soldering tip. It runs in the QUELKTSS80A handpiece of the Quick TS8 and TS8+ stations and can be swapped against any other shape of the TSS08R series. The station standby lowers the temperature during breaks and extends tip life.
