Most electronics work is served by a tip that lands flat on the joint and still leaves room next to the neighbouring part. This cartridge does that with a 1.6 mm chisel width at 1.2 mm chisel thickness, and it is exactly this tip width on which the Quick TS10 heat up figure of about 3 seconds to 300 °C is measured.

What the geometry does

• The 1.6 mm width places heat on a pad or through hole lead without warming the joints beside it.
• A 1.2 mm chisel thickness means more cross section than the 1.0 mm variants of the range, so heat is replaced faster.
• The chisel transfers over an area rather than a point, yet stays finer than the 2.4 and 3.0 mm chisels.
• 200 W version for fine to medium heat demand, tuned for controlled rather than maximum heat input.
• Tip and heater are one unit in the TSS10 range, shortening the path from element to joint.
• Thermocouple inside the tip plus a chip storing the calibration value, so the station reading stays comparable after a change.

Applications

Small to medium pads, through hole leads, finer cable work, connector contacts and comparable joints in workshop, service, assembly and rework. For high mass work on cable lugs or ground planes the chisels from 3.0 mm upwards or the 300 W versions carry more reserve.
