Most joints on an assembly sit between the needle and the heavy chisel. This cartridge covers exactly that middle ground with a 1.6 mm chisel width on a 1.0 mm blade in the standard, non slimmed body, fed by the 200 W version of the TSS10 range.

What the geometry does

• The 1.6 mm contact width suits through hole leads and small to medium pads, heat enters over an area instead of a point.
• The 1.0 mm blade enters narrower than the 1.2 mm chisel of the same width and can be laid against a lead from the side.
• Standard body rather than slim, which leaves more material behind the contact face than the slimmed variant.
• 200 W version for fine to medium heat demand, laid out for steady transfer over a full shift.
• Tip and heater form one unit in the TSS10 range, on the Quick TS10 roughly 3 seconds to 300 °C are possible, measured at this tip width.
• Thermocouple inside the tip plus a chip carrying the calibration value of that cartridge for comparable readings after a change.

Applications

Small to medium pads, through hole leads, smaller connector contacts and finer cable work in workshop, service, assembly and rework. If the tip has to reach between tightly spaced parts, take the slim version of the same dimension, for coarse joints the chisels from 2.4 mm upwards.
