The white two-strap model without a heel strap is the classic works shoe for laboratory, packing and electronics assembly. It goes on while standing and wipes clean. Electrostatically it does its job, with a dissipative EVA outsole tested to EN 61340-4-3 that keeps the person, shoe and floor path below 100 MOhm, as DIN EN 61340-5-1 requires.

What sets this model apart

• Dissipative EVA outsole, tested to EN 61340-4-3. On a dissipative floor the resistance of the person, shoe and floor path stays below 100 MOhm, the value DIN EN 61340-5-1 requires for an ESD workplace.
• Natural cork footbed with air cushion and suede leather cover. Within a few days the cork takes the shape of the foot and supports the arch, the suede cover absorbs moisture instead of leaving it under the sole.
• Two pin buckles, each adjustable on its own. The base width is normal, the buckles take up a high instep as readily as a flat foot.
• Open design without a heel strap. The shoe goes on and off while standing, which saves time on every change between clean and unclean areas.
• Sizes 35 to 48 in one model, enough to fit a whole department without sourcing a second model for large or small feet.
• The upper is full-grain cowhide, not split leather and not a coated substitute. It wipes clean, moves with the foot and keeps its shape for years with basic care.

Applications

Placement and test work in electronics manufacturing, laboratory and medical technology, packing and order picking in the ESD area, gowning zones ahead of the clean room. A light upper suits areas with a light dress code and shows soiling early, which is wanted where cleanliness is monitored.

Not suitable for workplaces with impact, crushing or penetration hazards. There the risk assessment calls for a safety shoe to EN ISO 20345.

Standards and conformity

The ESD property is tested to EN 61340-4-3, the test method for the electrical resistance of footwear. As a shoe the model is certified to DIN EN ISO 20347, that is as occupational footwear without a protective toe cap. It carries no safety class from S1 to S3. Dissipation works only together with a dissipative floor, which is why DIN EN 61340-5-1 requires shoe and floor to be checked at regular intervals in service.
