Soldering tip chisel 5 mm wide STTC series - Metcal STTC-017

Large solder areas and heavy terminals pull so much heat that narrow tips fall behind. The STTC-017 is the widest chisel cartridge in this range with a 5 mm tip width and 7.6 mm tip length. Heating is regulated by the Curie point of the alloy inside the cartridge body, so the 357 °C working temperature is fixed and needs no calibration.

Applications

For cable lugs, heavy stranded wire, shielding cans, battery terminals and ground planes on multilayer boards. It also serves to desolder several pins of a header at once.

Compatibility and scope of delivery

The cartridge runs on the MX-H1-AVA and MX-RM3E hand pieces and therefore on the Metcal MX-500, MX-5000 and MX-5200 systems. It is exchanged without tools while the unit stays powered. Delivery covers one single soldering cartridge without hand piece and without power unit.
