Soldering tip chisel 0.4 x 1 mm STTC series - Metcal STTC-025

Fine pitch leads need a small edge rather than a round point. The STTC-025 is a micro chisel cartridge with a 0.4 x 1 mm tip size and 9.1 mm tip length for the Metcal MX systems. Heating is regulated by the Curie point of the alloy inside the cartridge body, so the 357 °C working temperature is fixed and needs no calibration.

Applications

For QFN and QFP rework, 0402 and 0201 parts, flat cable contacts and fine repair wires. The small edge carries a controlled, low amount of solder and helps avoid bridges between closely spaced pins.

Compatibility and scope of delivery

The cartridge runs on the MX-H1-AVA and MX-RM3E hand pieces and therefore on the Metcal MX-500, MX-5000 and MX-5200 systems. It is exchanged without tools while the unit stays powered. Delivery covers one single soldering cartridge without hand piece and without power unit.
