The handpiece, not the power unit, is the part of a soldering station that wears out. The SHP-1 is the complete replacement handpiece assembly for the Thermaltronics TMT-9000S and its matching power supplies and ships ready to use with the RMP-1 protection pad for tip removal.

Applications
Spare part stock and second-seat equipment on rework and repair benches in electronics manufacturing, prototyping and service labs. Anyone keeping an existing Metcal MX station in service after a handpiece failure can use this unit without changing the whole system.
Compatibility and scope of delivery
Works with the Thermaltronics TMT-9000PS and STSS power units and with Metcal MX-500, MX-5000 and MX-5200. Supplied as a complete handpiece set including the RMP-1 protection pad for tip removal, sold by the piece. Soldering tip cartridges of the matching series are ordered separately.
The ESD safe build allows use at benches operated as an EPA to IEC 61340-5-1.
