A failed handpiece on a Metcal MFR station does not mean the power unit has to go. The SHP-KM is designed as the follow-up part for Metcal article MFR-H2-ST and works on MFR-PS1100, MFR-PS2200 and the Thermaltronics TMT-2000PS.

Applications
Rework and repair of populated boards, cable assembly and prototype build. Of particular interest to shops running Metcal MFR stations that want a second source for handpieces without disrupting production.
Compatibility and scope of delivery
Suits the Thermaltronics TMT-2000PS and the Metcal MFR-PS1100 and MFR-PS2200 power units. K series soldering cartridges are not included and are chosen to match the joint. The delivery covers the ESD soldering handpiece and the protection pad for tip removal, sold by the piece.
The ESD safe design is intended for workstations inside an EPA to IEC 61340-5-1.
