Where ground planes, shielding cans or thick leads drain heat immediately, contact area decides how long the joint takes. The TM70LC650 is an extra large chisel cartridge, 5.0 mm wide with a tip length of only 11.4 mm, keeping the thermal path from inductor to joint short.
