Soldering tip bevelled 60° 1 x 0.51 mm, 485 °C, STTC series - Metcal STTC-846

Heavy copper planes, ceramic substrates and components tied into large ground areas pull heat out of a joint quicker than an ordinary tip can supply it. The Metcal STTC-846 answers that with a 485 °C working temperature and a long 60° bevelled face of 1 x 0.51 mm that holds a solder reservoir and drives the heat straight into the connection.

Applications

Soldering and rework on ceramic substrates, on ground planes and shielding cans, on heavy connector pins and on through-hole parts with strong heat dissipation. The bevelled face also suits dragging solder along coarser pitch rows.

Compatibility and scope of delivery

The cartridge works with the MX-H1-AVA and MX-RM3E hand pieces and therefore with the MX-500, MX-5000 and MX-5200 power units. One STTC-846 soldering cartridge is supplied per order unit.
