When shoeing a horse, the nail has to be shortened and its end turned over cleanly without damaging the hoof wall. The 55 00 300 farriers' pincers are built for exactly that, the head of only 20.0 mm width reaches close to the hoof and the additionally hardened cutting edges of approx. 59 HRC sever the nail over a 20 mm edge length.
