SCS ESD shielding and moisture barrier bag, 508 x 508 mm, film thickness 0.178 mm

Moisture-sensitive components and circuit boards face two risks in storage and shipping: absorbed humidity and electrostatic discharge. This moisture barrier bag in 508 x 508 mm covers both. The multilayer film of polyester, aluminium and polyethylene, 0.1778 mm (7 mil) ±10 % thick, has a defined water vapour transmission rate, and the shielding limits the discharge energy that passes through to less than 10 nJ.

• Aluminium layer inside the polyester, aluminium and polyethylene laminate, film thickness 0.1778 mm (7 mil): the heavier-gauge version with a metallic barrier layer against moisture.
• Shielding against ESD and interference: shielding value less than 10 nJ, EMI attenuation above 40 dB.
• Surface resistance inside and outside below 10E11 Ohm each, so the bag does not charge up during filling and handling.
• Heat-sealable and suitable for vacuum packing: close the bag airtight after filling, evacuate first if required.
• Compliant with EN 61340-5-1 and RoHS, with a printed ESD warning symbol that marks the content at goods receipt.

Applications

The square 508 x 508 mm format has room for larger printed circuit boards, populated assemblies and stacked trays. It is used when complete production lots have to be stored under moisture protection or several assemblies are shipped together with desiccant. The range is also available in other sizes.
