Width 13 is the first of the two special widths of the SL 40 blue 2.0. It solves the case where even extra wide width 12 still presses at the ball, without pushing the wearer into an oversized length. Resistance stays below 100 megohms to DIN EN 61340-5-1.

Why this model

  • Charge dissipation to DIN EN 61340-5-1. ESD footwear keeps the resistance of the person, shoe and floor chain below 10 to the power of 8 ohms, that is below 100 megohms, measured to DIN EN 61340-5-1. Charge on the wearer drains in a controlled way instead of building up and discharging into an assembly.
  • Toe protection rated at 200 joules. The anatomically shaped alu-tec aluminium toe cap withstands 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression under EN ISO 20345. Aluminium weighs less than steel, moves the centre of gravity towards the middle of the foot and forms no cold bridge into the shoe.
  • Cushioning built for an eight hour shift. The MPU INNOFLEX system guides force along the natural roll line from heel to toe. The CLOUDZONE in the heel and the large MPU tread areas absorb the energy and return it into the next step.
  • Foot climate across the shift. The SportLine upper is an air permeable textile fabric with a hydrophobic finish, so it repels water and dries quickly. The aktiv-X functional lining regulates moisture, does not stain and resists chafing. Together with the clima-stream concept this keeps the temperature inside the shoe in a narrow band.
  • Fit instead of compromise. Width 13 is one of the special widths in the Atlas multi-width system. It is intended for feet that find even extra wide width 12 too tight, and removes the need to compensate with an oversized length.
  • Wear protection at the toe. The carbon-fibre reinforced toe guard absorbs the abrasion caused by kneeling work and extends service life without adding weight.
  • Orthopaedic insoles without losing approval. The model is released for orthopaedic insole fitting under DGUV rule 112-191. The marking inside the shoe is decisive.

Applications

The shoe is designed for dry indoor areas. Typical settings are electronics manufacturing and EPA workstations, PCB assembly and repair, test bays and measurement labs, assembly and final inspection, picking and dispatch in the warehouse, and cleanroom ante areas. For permanently wet areas or work with penetration risk, choose a higher protection class.

Standards and conformity

EN ISO 20345:2022 S1 SR, tested and certified by the notified bodies TÜV Rheinland Product Safety GmbH, Cologne (ID 0197) and PFI Prüf- und Forschungsinstitut Pirmasens (ID 0193). EU type examination certificate under module B, no. 2506209-01-86. Personal protective equipment of risk category II under Regulation (EU) 2016/425. ESD marking to DIN EN 61340-5-1. Released for orthopaedic insole fitting under DGUV rule 112-191. Manufacturer is ATLAS GmbH und Co. KG, Frische Luft 159, 44319 Dortmund, Germany.

Protection class S1 means a closed heel area, energy absorption in the heel, antistatic properties and a fuel resistant outsole. That is the right class for dry indoor areas such as production, test bays and warehousing. Antistatic under EN ISO 20345 means a through resistance between 10 to the power of 5 and 10 to the power of 9 ohms. The lower limit of 0.1 megohms set by DGUV rule 112-191 also limits the risk of current passing through the body when working at up to 230 volts.

Sizes

Available in EU sizes 35 to 49 in width 13 (special width). The size is selected in the basket and one pair is supplied.
