ESD safety shoe SL 9645 XP BOA S3S, waterproof leather, BOA Fit System, black/royal blue - Atlas 62600

An ESD protected area rarely ends at the shop floor door, and on the way across the yard, the store and the wash bay a textile shoe soaks through quickly. The SL 9645 XP BOA therefore combines a waterproof treated leather upper with full ESD capability: it keeps the through resistance of the person, shoe and floor chain below 100 MOhm measured to DIN EN 61340-5-1. The BOA Fit System dial turns putting the shoe on and taking it off into a matter of seconds.

What sets this model apart

• Protection class S3S to EN ISO 20345:2022. It covers everything in S2, so a closed heel area, antistatic construction, energy absorbing heel and an upper tested for resistance to water penetration and water absorption, plus a cleated outsole and a non metallic penetration resistant insert tested with the 3.0 mm nail.
• alu-tec aluminium toe cap, tested to 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression, and lighter than a steel cap of the same protective effect.
• XP metal free penetration resistance with aramid fibres instead of a steel midsole. Full area protection against nails, flexible when the foot rolls off and without a cold bridge into the sole.
• BOA Fit System instead of laces. The dial spreads the tension evenly across the instep, can be operated with gloves and leaves no loose ends near machinery.
• MPU INNOFLEX System with MPU REBOUND SYSTEM. The sole guides the load along one continuous line from heel to toe and returns absorbed energy into the movement, while the aktiv-X functional lining regulates moisture inside the shoe.
• Supplied in width 10 (standard) and approved for orthopaedic insoles to DGUV 112-191, so prescribed insoles can be fitted.

Assembly and final testing in electronics manufacturing, maintenance and plant service, storage and order picking inside an EPA, workshops with intermittently wet floors. The S3 specification also covers the walk across the yard and the loading ramp, so a second pair is not needed.

Standards and conformity

EN ISO 20345:2022 in the S3S SR configuration. In this edition SR denotes slip resistance as an additional requirement, tested on tile with glycerine. ESD performance follows DIN EN 61340-5-1 with a person, shoe and floor through resistance below 100 MOhm. Antistatic safety shoes sit between 100 kOhm and 1,000 MOhm under EN ISO 20345, and the lower limit of 100 kOhm secures limited protection against electric shock for work up to 230 V under DGUV 112-191.
