Anyone spending eight hours on their feet in electronics manufacturing needs footwear that drains the wearer charge reliably and still stays light. ATLAS lists the FLASH 1300 explicitly as an ESD shoe to DIN EN 61340-5-1. The toe cap meets the EN ISO 20345 test values of 200 joules impact energy and 15 kN compression, and it is made of aluminium rather than steel.
What sets this model apart
- Charge leaves before it reaches the component. ATLAS points out that EN ISO 20345 only describes the antistatic range and contains no ESD test at all. For an EPA workstation to DIN EN 61340-5-1, a merely antistatic shoe is therefore not enough. This model is listed as an ESD shoe and guides the wearer charge through sole and dissipative floor instead of releasing it into the assembly.
- Protection class S1 in plain words. Closed heel area, antistatic properties, energy-absorbing heel section and a fuel-resistant outsole. S1 does not include penetration resistance, which keeps the shoe light. Slip resistance SR to EN ISO 20345:2022 is verified on a ceramic tile with detergent. The former SRA, SRB and SRC grading was dropped with the 2022 edition, the supplier sheet still quotes SRC.
- Aluminium cap instead of steel. The anatomically shaped alu-tec cap is lighter than a steel cap and shifts the centre of gravity towards the middle of the foot, which helps prevent trips caused by imbalance. Aluminium behaves thermally neutral, so no cold bridge forms into the inside of the shoe.
- Mesh upper for continuous ventilation. The high-tech mesh wraps the foot precisely. The air texture of the fabric keeps circulation going and maintains an even foot climate, even when the shoe barely gets a break in two-shift operation.
- MPU INNOFLEX System for cushioning. The outsole guides forces along the INNOFLEX LINE from heel to toe. The CLOUDZONE in the heel absorbs impact forces, the DYNAMIC PLATES in the forefoot return energy into the next step and the flex grooves support the roll-off. Eight hours on a shop floor make the difference noticeable.
- Width 10 is already the wide fit. ATLAS builds even the standard width 10 on a broad, foot-friendly last. Wearers who need more room stay with the same model and move to the extra widths instead of ordering a size up and losing heel hold.
The aktiv-X functional lining regulates moisture inside the shoe, does not stain and resists abrasion. Together with the breathable mesh fabric and the Klima Komfort insole it forms the ATLAS clima-stream concept. The shoe is approved for orthopaedic insoles under DGUV rule 112-191, with type examinations carried out by TÜV Rheinland.

Areas of use
Placement, test field, assembly and warehouse work inside the EPA, plus laboratory and service areas with clean floors. Without penetration resistance the model does not belong on a construction site or anywhere nails are a risk. For permanently wet areas a waterproof S3 model is the right choice.
Standards and conformity
- EN ISO 20345:2022, protection class S1 with slip resistance SR as stated by ATLAS. The supplier sheet differs and quotes S1 with SRC under the 2012 edition.
- ESD to DIN EN 61340-5-1, declared by ATLAS for this article.
- PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425, risk category 2.
- Orthopaedic insoles under DGUV rule 112-191, type examination by TÜV Rheinland.
