ESD Safety Shoe FLASH 8255 XP BOA S3S, Metal-Free Penetration Resistance, BOA Fit - Atlas 31400

As soon as swarf, wire offcuts or pallet nails end up on the shop floor, an S1 shoe is no longer enough. The Atlas FLASH 8255 XP BOA covers safety class S3 and brings penetration resistance as a metal free XP laminate with aramid fibres, lighter than a steel midsole plate and free of cold bridges. The ESD build to DIN EN 61340-5-1 is unaffected, so the shoe still belongs inside an EPA.

What the shoe delivers in an EPA

• Charge dissipation to DIN EN 61340-5-1. By the person-shoe-floor method Atlas guarantees less than 100 megohms, the figure DIN EN 61340-5-1 calls for inside an EPA. The plain antistatic requirement of EN ISO 20345 allows anything between 100 kilohms and 1000 megohms. Anyone handling assemblies needs the tighter figure.
• Safety class S3S in plain words. Everything from S2, meaning closed seat region, antistatic build, energy absorbing heel and a water repellent upper, plus a penetration resistant midsole and a cleated outsole.
• Toe protection with an alu-tec aluminium toe cap. The cap is tested to EN ISO 20345 for 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression. Aluminium weighs less than steel, stays thermally neutral and creates no cold bridge into the shoe.
• Metal free XP penetration resistance. A thermoplastic polyamide laminate with aramid fibres instead of a steel plate. It weighs less, flexes along the length, stays thermally neutral and covers the EN ISO 20345 requirements for S1P and S3 according to Atlas.
• BOA Fit System instead of laces. A dial, a steel lace and low friction guides set the fit to the millimetre and open with one hand. No retying during the shift and no loose ends near moving parts.
• Fit in width 10. Width 10 is the Atlas standard width and fits the majority of a workforce.
• Sole system of MPU and nitrile. The multifunctional polyurethane midsole absorbs the step, the cleated outsole grips even on a damp hall floor. Slip resistance SR to the EN ISO 20345:2022 edition.
• Hydrophobic SportLine fabric. The synthetic textile is air permeable, water repellent, quick drying and hard wearing. Inside works the aktiv-X functional lining.
• MPU overcap at the toe. The toe takes the abrasion first during kneeling work. The moulded overcap extends service life exactly where it runs out.
