ESD safety low shoe RUNNER 295 S3, waterproof smooth leather, width 10, black/grey - Atlas 39900

One model for everything is usually a compromise, but not here. The RUNNER 295 ESD comes in protection class S3 to EN ISO 20345:2012, which means a water-repellent upper, penetration protection and a cleated outsole in one shoe. The roughly 2 mm full-grain waterproof smooth leather keeps the foot dry for hours and the steel toe cap is tested to 200 joules and 15 kN.

Why this model

• Charge dissipation as the first argument. The shoe is ESD compliant and keeps the resistance measured by the person-shoe-floor method of DIN EN 61340-5-1 below 100 MOhm. Static charge on the wearer drains through the sole in a controlled way instead of building up on the body. Inside an EPA that is what stops a component failing because somebody walked from the bench to the machine.
• S3 in plain words. The highest of the classic indoor classes combines everything: closed heel, antistatic build, energy-absorbing heel area, water-repellent upper, penetration-resistant midsole and cleated outsole. One model therefore covers production, stores, maintenance and the walk across the yard.
• Waterproof smooth leather, about 2 mm thick. The full-grain cowhide stays waterproof for hours and keeps the foot dry while remaining breathable and dimensionally stable. Anyone moving between hall, wash bay and yard feels the difference to a textile shoe at the end of the day.
• XP penetration resistance without metal. Instead of a steel midsole this model uses a high-tech textile containing aramid fibres. It is light, covers the full area and lets the foot torsion work naturally. For ESD zones and metal detector gates that construction is simply more practical.
• Steel toe cap with tested figures. The anatomically shaped toe cap withstands at least 200 joules of impact energy and at least 15 kN of compression to EN ISO 20345:2012. That is a 20 kilogram part dropping onto the forefoot from roughly one metre.
• SPORTY sole system in sneaker look. The outsole of multifunctional polyurethane is slip-resistant, hard-wearing and abrasion-resistant, while the MPU midsole with the MPU REBOUND SYSTEM supplies dynamics and cushioning, and the outsole is rated SRC. The shoe looks like a trainer and therefore actually gets worn instead of sitting in the locker.

The aktiv-X functional lining regulates moisture from the inside so that a tightly closed leather shoe does not turn into a sauna, and it dries quickly after the shift. Width 10 is the broad ATLAS standard on a foot-friendly last. To DGUV rule 112-191 the model is suitable for orthopaedic insole fitting, and the marking inside the shoe is decisive.
