A shoe for electronics manufacturing has to do two things at once, drain the wearer charge and shrug off a freshly mopped hall floor. The SL 80 covers both, ESD compliant and certified in protection class S2 to EN ISO 20345:2022. The water-repellent SOFT nubuck delivers the S2 property, the alu-tec aluminium cap takes 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression, and the abrasion-resistant MPU toe bumper extends service life during kneeling work. What sets this model apart
- Dissipate the charge, do not collect it. The shoe is ESD compliant. Measured by the person-shoe-floor method of DIN EN 61340-5-1, the resistance stays below 100 MOhm, so the wearer charge drains to ground in a controlled way. In practice that means no component fails from a discharge on the walk between bench and machine. The plain antistatic requirement of EN ISO 20345, 100 kOhm to 1000 MOhm, does not cover this. It protects the person, not the electronics.
- S2 in plain words. S2 covers everything S1 offers, a closed heel, antistatic construction and an energy-absorbing heel region. On top comes a water-repellent upper, tested for water absorption and water penetration to EN ISO 20345. A spilled cup or a freshly mopped hall floor stays without consequence.
- SOFT nubuck leather as the upper. Atlas works exclusively with carefully selected cattle hides. The soft nubuck needs hardly any breaking in, takes on the shape of the foot and stands up to daily plant use considerably longer than a textile fabric.
- alu-tec aluminium cap instead of steel. It passes the same test of 200 joules impact energy and 15 kN compression to EN ISO 20345, yet weighs less and shifts the centre of gravity towards the middle of the foot. That helps prevent trips caused by imbalance. Aluminium behaves thermally neutral and forms no cold bridge into the shoe.
- INNOFLEX outsole with MPU tread zones. The sole complex guides the force along the INNOFLEX LINE from heel to toe. The CLOUDZONE in the heel absorbs the energy and the large MPU tread zones return it into the next step. The MPU REBOUND SYSTEM adds a pressure-relieving insole to the responsive MPU sole. Anyone spending eight hours on a concrete floor notices the difference by the evening.
- Width 10 as the broad standard last. All Atlas models in width 10 are built on a generously shaped last from the start, and the multi-width system keeps width 12 available for special cases. The model is approved for orthopaedic insoles to DGUV rule 112-191, the marking inside the shoe is decisive.

Areas of use
Assembly and testing of electronic modules, maintenance and field service, goods-in and dispatch inside the EPA, stores and order picking. The water-repellent upper also makes the shoe usable where cleaning water, coolant or condensate stands on the floor. It offers no protection against sharp objects underfoot, that requires a penetration-resistant midsole.
